MNZ registered Massage Therapist
Born and bred in Wellington, my path to massage therapy began as a result of a career counselling exercise in late 2008. I wanted a new profession that would provide me with flexibility, technical skills and the ability to affect change – aspects similar in my previous career as well as spending more quality time with my young family. After booking myself on some weekend courses, I was ‘sold’ on massage after day 1 of the first weekend and sports massage in the same way!
Over a three-year period I gained qualifications through the NZ College of Massage’s Wellington Campus - 18 month Diploma in Health Sciences (Therapeutic Massage) in June 2010 and 6 month post-graduate Diploma in Health Sciences (Clinical & Sports Massage) in December 2011. My intensive training included techniques in Mobilisation, Myofascial (connective tissue) Release, Deep Tissue, Sports Massage, Trigger Point Therapy as well as treatments to help remedy numerous postural dysfunctions. During my studies and throughout my career, I have been fortunate to work with various sporting codes at regional, national and international level including: football, rugby, netball, swimming, cricket and basketball. More recently I gained a certificate in Pregnancy Massage in February 2019.
My focus lies in rehabilitation and treatment massage, as well as body maintenance. Massage Therapy allows me to help individuals in their quest to become more energised, refreshed and eventually pain-free. Massage is now seen as a more acceptable health modality and I love being part of it.
As a registered MNZ therapist, my clients can claim from there Southern Cross insurance with there treatments.
